Pregnant Saru and Misaki likes to press his ear agaisnt his belly because he can hear the baby's heartbeat along with the faint heartbeat of Saruhiko.

Aw this is sweet, Yata would totally be this kind of sappy dad. Like imagine once Fushimi hits the point that he’s really showing, naturally he’s miserable because once his stomach is noticeable enough he gets put on light duty only and everyone’s being super careful around him. Fushimi complains about it endlessly, along with muttering about how his back hurts and his feet hurt and the baby won’t stop moving and it’s annoying. Yata just smiles at him when he gets home from work though, all yeah yeah I know it’s a pain, sit down and I’ll rub your feet for a bit. Fushimi can’t say no to being spoiled by Misaki so he sits down all I suppose this is the least you can do for the person carrying your kid. 

Yata starts kneeling next to Fushimi and giving him a little massage while Fushimi complains he’s being too rough and his hands are too cold. Yata laughs and ends up leaning against Fushimi’s stomach. Fushimi clicks his tongue and asks what Yata’s doing, Yata says he thinks he can hear the heartbeat. Fushimi doubts that but Yata’s like no, I think I can. His face gets a little red and he looks a bit shy as he adds that he can faintly hear Fushimi’s too — it’s like a reminder that he has his two favorite people right here, and that he won’t ever let anything bad happen to either of them. Fushimi says that’s a big promise to make to a baby that’s not even born yet and Yata laughs, leaning up to give Fushimi a kiss as he says nah, it’s a good promise and Yata’s going to stick to it, he’s not letting anything bad happen to this baby and nothing’s going to happen to Fushimi either, not on his watch. Fushimi pulls a face and says Yata’s letting his feet be sore right now and Yata’s like right, right, back to the foot massage, you’re lucky you’re carrying my baby.

not like I mind all that much given how once an anime studio starts being considered one of the big ones it's 50/50 on whether it'll be hit by the usual big money quality drop in type of projects chosen, but I'm thinking again about that list I read a while back of studios you should keep an eye out for and how how wasn't science saru on the list. like for real, I feel like there's still only a handful of people out there who noticed how good science saru is how has that happened, it's not even like they've always only done niche anime? I mean eizouken is theirs? devilman crybaby? they've both been huge hits I didn't dream that did I

What your opinions are on Terra/Ohse and Iori/Kei ? Not even necessarily as ships, I enjoy the ships but also those specific pairings are just very interesting in general to me :)

these dynamics fascinate me. as all charisma house dynamics do. for example io/saru has the childhood best friends thing going on, not to mention their whole Things re: being a subservient masochist and a rebellious little bastard respectively. theyve been Up there in terms of canonically interesting and DEEP dynamics since day one. very solid

terra and ohse has that same sort of contrasting flair to it now that you mention it. with terras whole self love and beauty thing vs ohses... deal. i still love that episode where terra came into ohses room and complimented him on his art until he found out there was a real life lizard on the premises the whole time. and then basically told ohse Never mind. i think you should die actually.

i also find the idea of saru being terrible at leaving plant care instructions really funny

idk if u watch total drama island theres this guy lightning who mistakes everyone's gender 😭 like calling this girl a dude for basically the whole season and not understanding when she corrects him and he rlly reminds me of yata so scenario pls?

I’m just imagining this as one of those scenarios where Fushimi is a girl and literally everyone knows except Yata, who is clueless basically until Fushimi’s boobs are all but shoved into his face. Like Fushimi isn’t even trying to hide it or anything, maybe she just wears the boy school uniform because she doesn’t like skirts. Yata immediately assumes that Fushimi must be a boy then, but he’s really confused too because huh why does the teacher keep making Saruhiko go over to the girl’s side for gym class. Fushimi clicks her tongue all ‘because that’s the side I’m supposed to be on, idiot,’ and it just goes right over Yata’s head, like oh maybe because Fushimi’s so delicate he’s like a girl and so has to do gym with the girls (and Fushimi always sits out anyway, so she never changes into gym clothes and Yata just figures hey, that must be what the skinny nerdy fragile kids have to do). 

Then they join Homra and everyone else immediately sees that Fushimi is a girl. Fushimi continues to not hide it — I imagine Totsuka idly wondering why Fushimi never corrects Yata about her gender and Fushimi gives Totsuka this flat look like ‘I’ve been explaining it since middle school, Misaki is just an idiot’ and Totsuka gets this amused look all oh I see. Yata does realize that Anna’s a girl so it seems like just Fushimi is the blind spot, no matter how many times he’s corrected Yata’s like yes this is my good male best friend Saruhiko. The rest of Homra feel kinda bad for Fushimi, who has a clear crush and is constantly being treated as literally ‘one of the guys.’ Chitose tries to suggest she wear sexy lingerie to get Yata’s attention, this suggestion is met with a look of deep hatred. Fushimi does attempt to ‘accidentally’ leave a bra on the floor of their apartment and Yata just becomes convinced that a naked female ghost snuck in. So then when the betrayal happens Fushimi does actually agree to the heavy fanservice uniform, not because she like wants it shoved into Misaki’s face that she’s a girl or anything but okay maybe that’s why. Yata falls off his skateboard the first time he sees her and probably goes stumbling harem-protagonist-style right into her cleavage, wondering what the fuck Saruhiko is wearing and why do you look like a girl. Fushimi is like because I am a girl you absolute brain dead moron and Yata is just so very lost, like wait when did that happen why didn’t you ever say anything.
